This oil offers improved energy efficiency, extended service life, and high resistance to micro-pitting, making it ideal for enclosed industrial worm gear systems, extended life systems, and other applications where high load, extreme temperatures, or wide temperature variations are present.

Shell Omala S4 WE is recommended for enclosed industrial worm gear systems operating under severe conditions, such as high loads, extreme temperatures, and wide temperature variations. It is also particularly well-suited for extended life systems where maintenance is infrequent or difficult to access, such as yaw gears in wind turbine installations. Additionally, it can be used for the lubrication of bearings and other components in circulating and splash-lubricated systems. However, it is not recommended for components made from aluminum or aluminum alloys.
